Assistant Nurse Manager - Nursing Administration at Providence Health and Services summary:

The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the nurse manager in overseeing unit operations, staffing, and nursing care delivery in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves management, policy interpretation, direct supervision, and maintaining clinical competence to ensure high-quality patient care. The position requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Texas RN license, and leadership experience within a nursing team.

Description

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is responsible for assisting the nurse manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit. In collaboration with the nurse manager, assumes 24/7 responsibility for the management and staffing of the unit. The ANM manages and coordinates the unit, directs and supervises functions and activities, interprets policies/procedures/protocols, standards, and regulations as appropriate. The scope of responsibility spans all aspects of nursing care. The ANM maintains clinical competence and certifications to assist the unit when required.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Graduate from School of nursing (BS, or BSN). Registered Nurses employed in this role prior to November 1, 2024 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.
  • Upon hire: Texas Registered Nurse License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred qualifications:

  • Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Shared Governance experience.
