Responsibilities
As an Aviation Defense Analyst with Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) you will provide analytic support as part of a diverse team of experts performing a spectrum of military and intelligence analysis across a variety of different projects. The analysis work performed will primarily be focused on air and air defense systems and the creation of products used to communicate the information to a wide variety of customers. Your initial responsibilities will depend on existing proficiencies with substantial opportunity to expand your skills and expertise across the breadth of air defense related topics. This position will be located at a government facility in Northern, VA.
Your essential job functions will include but will not be limited to:
- Experience with ELINT analysis, COMINT analysis, IMINT analysis, modeling and simulation and the integration of information into comprehensive intelligence products.
- You will assess system operational trends, identifying newly deployed systems, evaluating capabilities, and integrating ELINT with other sources of intelligence to generate a comprehensive understanding of the threat picture.
- Collect, analyze, and exploit data from various sources to evaluate a country's integrated air defense systems (IADS).
- Provide expertise on current and future foreign capabilities in the air / air-defense domains.
- Author comprehensive threat assessments detailing the results of the above analysis.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience working within the U.S. Intelligence Community.
- Current Top Secret/SCI clearance with a current full scope polygraph
- Knowledge of the IADS kill chain.
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to adapt to a dynamic work environment that is responsive to world events.
- Must understand the customer's areas of interest and business processes, and develop analytic products and research lines in anticipation of customer's future needs.
Qualifications Desired:
- 10+ years of experience working within the U.S. Intelligence Community.
- Experience with ELINT collection and analysis at the operational or technical level.
- An understanding of radars, radar design philosophy and applications, and use in air space monitoring and weapon control.
- Experience with analysis tools such as IMOM, ESAMS, EADSIM, SUPPRESSOR, AFSIM, FalconView, GALE, MIST, THRESHER, BVI, or equivalents.
- Experience developing code for modeling, simulation and analysis of military systems.
- Knowledge of aircraft, air operations, and air defense systems.
- Experience developing U.S. weapon systems.
- Exceptional analytic tradecraft, professional writing, proofreading, briefing and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills/tools, and a willingness to expand areas of knowledge as required.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is desired or equivalent life experience.
Clearance Requirements :
- Top Secret/SCI clearance with a current Full-Scope Polygraph is required to start.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Desired Skills and Experience Responsibilities
As an Aviation Analyst, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to perform military and intelligence analysis on a wide range of initiatives. The primary area of focus will be on air defense systems, supporting the creation of high-quality intelligence products for diverse stakeholders. This position is located at a secure government facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform analysis using ELINT, COMINT, and IMINT; conduct modeling and simulation to synthesize data into actionable intelligence reports.
Monitor trends in air defense operations, identify system deployments, evaluate capabilities, and integrate ELINT with additional intelligence sources.
Analyze and interpret data to assess foreign integrated air defense systems (IADS).
Deliver insights on both current and developing foreign air and air-defense capabilities.
Develop and present comprehensive threat assessments derived from analytical results.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience within the U.S. Intelligence Community.
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a current Full Scope Polygraph.
Understanding of the IADS kill chain.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field-or equivalent practical experience.
Proven ability to work independently as well as in collaborative, high-tempo environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Over 8 years of experience in the U.S. Intelligence Community.
Practical experience with ELINT collection and analysis at either the operational or technical level.
Solid understanding of radar technology, design, and usage in operational contexts.
Proficiency with analytical tools like IMOM, ESAMS, or comparable platforms.
Experience programming or developing code for military system modeling and simulations.
Familiarity with aircraft systems, air operations, and air defense technologies.
Background in U.S. weapon system development.
Strong analytical thinking, writing, presentation, and communication capabilities.
Demonstrated flexibility and eagerness to continuously expand technical knowledge.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent professional experience).
Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (mandatory).
U.S. Citizenship required.
