Job Details

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Baker to join our 10-person team. The ideal candidate for this position has:

• at least 3 years experience in a professional kitchen setting, experience baking cake in particular and is familiar with techniques & recipes for various cake types, and fillings & frostings (Swiss buttercreams, jams, pastry cream, curds, French buttercream, soaks, etc);
• is comfortable working with a variety of commercial baking equipment (30 qt mixers, commercial ovens, wash stations, etc.).
• has great time management, be very detail oriented, flexible and adaptable to a fast paced and complex order and fulfillment schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Managing bake schedule planning & execution, with oversight from Production manager;
• *this position does not require people management, rather team-wide delegation and will report into a Production Manager*
• collaborate with Production manager on production team delegation
• collaborate with Production manager on inventory management & kitchen organization
• Food prep for cakes, frostings & fillings, and seasonal pastries
• Baking: cakes, frostings, jams, creams, soaks, and various filling components (crumbles, cookies, etc.)
• Pastry prep: pie dough, laminated sourdough, various cookie doughs
• Layer Cake assembly
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Occasional Dishes, inventory & organization.
• Support staff at events: pop ups, classes and more.

Hours:

We are seeking a candidate to work 5 days a week, 8 hours shifts. Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
