CCA Academy : Located on the Westside of Chicago, CCA Academy was started as a community based alternative school in 1978 and became a charter campus of the Youth Connection Charter School (YCCS) in 1997. CCA Academy is seeking a Disciplinarian to help create and maintain a rigorous and nurturing environment that prioritizes student learning through theme-based competency education in urban agriculture/sustainability complemented with restorative justice.

Job summary : The Disciplinarian works with all members of the CCA learning community to create and sustain the structures, systems, and relationships essential to maintaining a school culture conducive to a learning environment embedded in restorative justice and academic rigor. The applicant must have high expectations of students and must be committed to building and maintaining a culture of educational excellence in a low-income urban setting. The disciplinarian must be impartial and consistent, must have a restorative approach to discipline, must be able to deescalate/resolve conflict, and must manage the positive and negative aspects of the discipline system. Provides morning check-ins.

Personal qualities: Must commit to the school's mission to create lifelong learners and vision to empower students to reach their full potential; must have the ability to think analytically; must be observant and vigilant about resolving conflict; must have sound judgement and be able to get to the root of difficult situations; must be plainspoken and integrous; and must have strong interpersonal and extraordinary communication skills.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with three years’ experience.

Beginning Salary: $50,000 for a ten-month school year or commensurate with degrees and experience.
