China’s leading English-language daily newspaper, the Global Times, is seeking experienced, enthusiastic and driven copy-editors to join its growing team.Do you have an eye for speling mistakes? Do split infinitives make you want to literally scream? Hopefully, hanging adverbs drive you up the wall? If you have a disagreement with your spouse about a finer point of grammer, do you reach for Websters Dictionary? If so, congratulations, we’d like to hear from you.However, you will need a bit more than that. Working for Global Times, you will have to tackle storys covering a vast range of issues, from national Chinese news to international affairs. On any given day, you may find yourself thoroughly rewriting a hard hitting feature about food scandals, editing the latest dispatch from our man on the ground in Juba, Sudan and work with reporters to get the facts of a breaking frontpage story just right. Still interested? Excellent, please read on.You will need solid copy editing experience, you will be familiar with Chinese and international current events, you will have a desire to go that little bit farther to help the production of a successful newspaper and an enthusiastic team spirit and work ethic. Oh, and being a native English speaker helps. Please also be aware that we are looking for copy editors to work the night shift ( 5.30pm-1 2.30am Sun-Thurs).
