Job Description:
Analytical Skills: Data analysts work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching. You will need to see through the data and analyze it to find conclusions. EWA Data Analyst will work on multiple projects at the same time. Work will involve multiple data sources, business groups, and vendor partners. The amount of time spent on each project can vary during any time worked.
Communication Skills: Data analysts are often called to present their findings or translate the data into an understandable document. You will need to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas. This includes the ability to translate any communication between technical and non-technical teams, at various data levels such as a high-level business view, or individual data points. Analyst must also be comfortable audio/video conferencing, during any given portion of a workday. Working session can occur during any part of the day, and meetings are not always scheduled or planned. Communicating the planned process if data is incomplete is critical to project success.
Critical Thinking: Data analysts must look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to conclusions based on the findings. This includes adaptability to a changing environment during a project. Data should be presented based on the results of the analysis with no decisions on accuracy or feasibility. It is important to keep in mind business or application processes may impact how the data is used.
Attention to Detail: Data analysts must make sure they are vigilant in their analysis to include and report on all the available information. Attention to detail is also critical when working on multiple projects at the same time, as projects may share the same data sources or have the same business owners.
