Decedent Affairs Coordinator Job Responsibilities Documents information in support of complex case management. Manages the Decedent Affairs process and communicates information to the Decedent Affairs team. Makes determinations on each death and reports all appropriate deaths to the County Medical Examiner and/or State Medical Examiner in accordance with state laws. Manages the activities of patient deaths from the time of death to the final disposition of remains. Performs critical identification functions to ensure the right body goes to the right funeral home. Acting as gatekeeper for morgue admissions/removals while ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission and Red Rules requirements to reduce the legal liability of the hospital. Other duties as assigned.
