What you will do 

We are looking for a Director of Compliance with 4-6 years’ experience in consumer lending compliance to lead a team of compliance professionals. You will join a dynamic and energetic group that directly impacts and engages all areas of the business. We’re looking for a motivated professional who wants to be part of a collaborative, hands-on team who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and will provide smart and strategic input as we launch new products and services. As a member of the compliance team, you will closely interact with other stakeholders in the company such as the operations, engineering and marketing teams. As a Director of Compliance at Kashable, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of the compliance program and ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and company policies
  • Oversee and monitor Kashable’s consumer complaint management program including reviewing and editing complaint responses and escalating complaint trends to senior management
  • Oversee the approval process of all marketing materials and consumer-facing communications for any regulatory concerns
  • Oversee and manage state licenses, including annual reports, license renewals and management of internal and external compliance reviews and examination by state and federal regulators or other regulatory agencies
  • Identify and inform of any changes to legislation and other regulatory requirements relating to BSA, ECOA, TILA, FCRA, SCRA, FDCPA, UDAAP and such other related laws and regulations
  • Enhance our Compliance Management System to ensure strong oversight of the product development and training program at Kashable
  • Lead projects and collaborate with various teams, including marketing, operations, and engineering to identify and mitigate compliance risks on a range of legal and regulatory issues impacting Kashable’s products, business and customers

Qualifications 

  • Must have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
  • A minimum of 4-6 years’ experience working for a fintech, bank, online lender, credit card company or law firm;
  • You must have demonstrated experience on some or all of the following laws and regulations: BSA, ECOA, TILA, FCRA, SCRA, FDCPA, and UDAAP;
  • Must be able to adapt well to a rapid, fast-paced and changing company and willingness to work within an energetic and dynamic environment;
  • Creative and innovative thinker for outside the box solutions;
  • Must have experience in leading and managing a team;
  • Experience with state regulators a plus;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills;
  • Multi-tasker with the ability to work independently but also as a team player;
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines; and
  • Attention to detail is a must.

This position will be based in our New York city office. The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000 – $200,000. The actual base salary will depend on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skill level.
