Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in recruiting, outreach, admissions, academic advising, counseling, student services, customer service or related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Must be willing to travel as needed.

Travel is required to recruit students to increase enrollment for Herff College of Engineering (HCOE). Job Summary: The HCOE College Recruiter is primarily responsible for covering the major aspects of recruitment, admissions, and enrollment of new students to HCOE at the University of Memphis. The HCOE College Recruiter represents the college and university to prospective students and counselors when they visit HCOE and U of M, write or call the office, and when they require special programs or individual counseling. The HCOE College Recruiter implements recruiting strategies throughout Tennessee, the Mid-South and the surrounding areas, which necessitates extensive travel. The overall purpose of the HCOE College Recruiter is to take an active role in ensuring prospective students have been personally, effectively, and knowledgeably served, while working for the highest yield of enrolled students from the admitted group. Must be based in or near Memphis. It requires evening and weekend work and extensive travel. This position requires the ability to independently market and promote the college by traveling extensively to local, regional, and national recruiting events, and occasionally to international events and venues. Work involves but is not limited to, local and domestic travel, counseling and guidance of applicants for admissions, and rendering of directional services to high school and colleges in the Mid-South region and surrounding states.

In coordination with U of M's Strategic Enrollment Management and the leadership of the Assistant Dean of Engineering Student Services, defines and manages recruitment territories including, communicating regularly with prospective students and families and high school and community college counselors, managing selected correspondence, planning and executing on-and-off campus programs. Work involves but is not limited to, local and domestic travel, counseling and guidance of applicants for admissions, and rendering of directional services to high school and colleges in the Mid-South region.

Partnership Building and Pipeline Development
Implements, develops, and evaluates new student enrollment initiatives for assigned student groups, developing recruitment strategies, assisting the college with strategic implementation of recruitment activities by identifying strong recruitment approaches and developing and executing new outreach programs. Coordinates with the Assistant Dean of Engineering Student Services to develop recruitment goals, plans, and strategies for the Mid-South region supporting all academic programs.

Develops a proactive territory management plan to convert students through the stages of the admissions funnel from the suspect / prospect student stage to enrollment. Plans and participates in admissions recruitment events on campus and at schools in assigned territory. Consistent use of technology to facilitate communications and data-driven decision-making.

Provides high-level customer service to prospective students and families in the office via phone, email, and in-person meetings. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling regular visits with students and counselors in assigned territories and focusing on maintaining strong relationships with key school contacts.
