Genesis Staffing is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment and Diesel Truck Mechanics for our client in Sarasota, Florida . Candidates must be able to evaluate and repair heavy equipment including but not limited to bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, and Roll Off Trucks in a safe and efficient manner.

Position is full time, temp to hire, working days.

 

Pay will depend on level of skills and experience, range is approximately $24.00 - $36.00/hr.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains advanced knowledge to diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment or diesel engines.
• Identifies potential problems and takes initiative of corrective actions.
• Performs repair or preventative maintenance on all Heavy Equipment and light vehicles as needed to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Reads and interprets equipment condition reports, communicate with supervisor and/or operator for clarification of defects and discuss preventive techniques with operators to minimize future repairs.
• Completes paperwork associated with repairing equipment, documenting parts usage.
• Adheres to and follows OSHA requirements as well as all applicable and required company safety standards and procedures.
• Ensure work area is left clean, all equipment and tools are stowed away safely and protected against damage

 

Required Education and Experience

• Two (2) years of proven work experience as heavy equipment mechanic and diesel trucks.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Has their own tools

 

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

• CAT equipment experience is a plus (not required)

 

Physical Requirements:

• Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions.
• Hearing: Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
• Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
• Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools
• Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20 lbs / 9 kg.
• Lifting: able to lift up to 30 lbs / 14 kg.
• Squatting/Kneeling: able to squat or kneel
• Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
• Walking: Able to walk through the shop and other outside elements
