Job Title: Industrial Painter
Job Description

As an Industrial Painter, you will bring your expertise in surface preparation, epoxy mixing, and equipment maintenance to ensure high-quality finishes on structural steel, machinery, and other fabricated surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces using solvent cleaning, grinding, or power-tool cleaning techniques.
• Mix and apply two-part epoxy systems accurately by volume or weight.
• Operate and maintain spray equipment, including airless, HVLP, and pressure pot systems, ensuring safe setup and routine cleaning.
• Perform quality control checks, including measuring wet and dry film thickness and conducting visual inspections for defects.
• Document batch numbers, mix ratios, and application parameters for quality assurance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including the safe handling of epoxies, solvents, and thinners, and adherence to OSHA standards.

• Proficiency in solvent surface preparation and understanding of cleanliness standards.
• Knowledge of epoxy chemistry basics, including curing mechanisms and environmental limitations.
• Experience in applying coatings using various methods such as airless spray and conventional spray.
• Ability to troubleshoot common spray issues and conduct quality control checks.

• Familiarity with topcoats like polyurethane and polysiloxane.
• Experience in industrial painting, particularly with structural steel, tanks, machinery, or equipment.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance measures, including respirator fit testing and waste disposal regulations.

Work Environment

Work in a shop/manufacturing setting, primarily in a paint booth, to prep, paint, and finish components for industrial machines. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Liverpool, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
