Responsibilities Support a secure, distributed architecture for classified DoD IT systems, including office automation, document management, and collaboration tools. Design and upgrade network infrastructure for large-scale enterprise IT programs. Evaluate new communication technologies and analyze existing network architecture to recommend improvements. Create detailed network design specifications, schematics, and artifacts. Conduct cost/benefit analyses for hardware and software selection, considering capacity requirements. Test network designs to ensure functionality and performance. Advise on hardware requirements, configurations, SOPs, and limitations for clients. Design telecommunications circuit specifications. Implement network configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automated provisioning. Monitor network performance and maintain expertise in hardware/software interconnection, including routers, switches, firewalls, and unified communications. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 6 years of experience may substitute for a degree. TS/SCI clearance required. Information Assurance Certifications aligned with 8570 IAT Level III (must be obtained prior to start). Certificates in Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within 6 months of starting may be required. Experience with Cisco or similar network platforms, including management, monitoring, automation, routers, switches, firewalls, and unified communications. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Visio for technical diagrams. Experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN networks with encryption. Experience in at least two of the following areas: virtualized environments (Azure, VMware NSX-T), automation tools (Ansible, Python), or IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation). Desired Skills Professional certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, DevNet Professional, AZ-104, VCP-NV, or ITIL4. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, network management solutions (Netflow, SNMP), VMware NSX SDN environments, and risk management frameworks like RMF and DODAF. Knowledge of DISN or CANES systems.
