Job Title

Working for the Division of Operations, Bureau of Transportation Services, incumbent will assist with Central Office vehicle mini-pool by performing the following: dispatch vehicles to employees; fill out and review all paperwork associated with vehicle dispatches and assist with maintaining the vehicle maintenance status board; ensure adequate levels of paperwork are available to support dispatch functions; and may pick up or deliver mail to other State agencies as needed. Incumbent will also collect and organize daily mileage sheets, review forms for accuracy and enter vehicle mileage in the Division's MMS system each month, maintain EZ Pass accounts and process EZ Pass violations, process invoices from the Port Vehicle Maintenance Center, and assist the Bureau with telephone coverage and other various duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. To be eligible for appointment under NY HELPS, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications below: There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title. Candidates may also be appointed via the following: Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC. Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis. Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 4 or higher and eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. To apply under the 55 b/c program, candidates must include with their resume or application, a copy of the letter from the Department of Civil Service which indicates their approval for the 55 b/c program.
