Position Summary

The Picker Packer is responsible for accurately selecting and preparing materials for production jobs, assembling and packaging materials, and ensuring all parts are properly staged and ready for shipment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow and delivering undamaged materials to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pick & Stage Materials:
    • Use the Bill of Materials (BOM) to identify, pick, and stage materials for assigned jobs.
    • Organize materials on the staging table for inspection.
  • Document & Verify Materials:
    • Take clear photos of all staged materials for job records.
    • Verify material quantities against the packing slip and ensure accuracy.
  • Assemble & Pack:
    • Assemble materials for the job as needed, following work instructions.
    • Safely pack materials into parts crates, using proper packing methods to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Quality & Safety:
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding missing or damaged parts.
    • Support production and shipping teams as needed to meet deadlines.
Requirements

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, shipping/receiving, or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand Bills of Materials, packing slips, and basic work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move materials (up to XX lbs - insert appropriate weight).
  • Basic computer or tablet skills for documenting materials (photo and data entry).

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing/warehouse setting, requiring standing, walking, lifting, bending, and handling materials throughout the shift. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
