Private Equity Associate / Sr. Associate Position

Firm Overview

Periphas Capital is a private equity investment partnership in New York formed in 2017, and our team includes seasoned investing professionals from Goldman Sachs and Berkshire Partners. Our team also includes a number of former CEOs who work with us as operating partners. The firm currently pursues an independent sponsor approach to investing, whereby we capitalize each investment as a standalone vehicle. Our LPs comprise family office and institutional investors who back us on a deal-by-deal basis to pursue both minority growth investments and control buyouts typically focused on middle market businesses. Our team is a very large investor in all of our deals, usually representing 10-15% of equity invested. We typically target tech-enabled businesses in business services, consumer, and industrials sectors where we have prior experience and/or a relationship with an operating executive.

Role Description

Periphas is seeking a full time associate or senior associate to join the team beginning Summer of 2025. The associate will be an integral member of our lean investment team and play an active role in pre-investment due diligence, deal structuring, financing, portfolio company management, and exit decisions. The associate role at Periphas provides the unique opportunity to work alongside the rest of a close-knit investment team in all aspects of new deal origination, execution and investment decisions. The associate will also have the opportunity to assist portfolio companies with various strategic and operational initiatives as well as interact with both LPs and operating advisors in the context of new investments and capital raises.

Responsibilities

· Review and evaluate potential investment opportunities

· Conduct industry research and competitive analysis

· Perform financial modeling and analysis, including LBO and DCF

· Assist in managing various due diligence workstreams, including with third-party advisors

· Lead the creation of investment committee materials

· Assist existing portfolio companies with strategic initiatives, including bolt-on acquisitions

· Take a proactive role in idea / thesis generation and sourcing of potential investments

· Various internal initiatives including firm strategy, communication with investors, and capital raises

Qualifications

· Candidate with 2-4 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, management consulting, or private equity

· Undergraduate degree from a top university with demonstrated strong academic performance

· Strong grasp of accounting and financial modeling principles

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· An entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to work with a lean and growing team

Compensation

· Total Compensation of $200-250k (base salary plus discretionary bonus), commensurate with experience
