Position: Proofreader

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Proofreader to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a strong command of both fundamental and advanced grammar rules and demonstrate proficiency in applying these standards in accordance with our established style guides. The ideal applicant will exhibit a meticulous eye for detail, ensuring all written materials are thoroughly reviewed for errors in punctuation, spelling, grammar, and word usage, as well as verifying factual accuracy and identifying potential plagiarism concerns.

This role requires effective communication and collaboration with writers and other team members to ensure all documents comply with the company’s editorial guidelines and maintain the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and proofread content to ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
• Verify consistency in terminology, style, and formatting across entire documents.
• Conduct fact-checking and validate references and citations.
• Ensure strict adherence to company style guides and writing standards.
• Provide constructive feedback to authors and collaborate to enhance content clarity and quality.
• Manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines and project timelines.
• Handle sensitive or confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proofread a variety of documents, including but not limited to articles, reports, manuals, and digital content.
• Utilize proofreading software and tools to support the review process.
• Stay informed on language trends, industry best practices, and continuous professional development in editing and proofreading.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
• Proficiency in AP style and familiarity with other major style guides.
• Strong fact-checking and research capabilities.
• Exceptional grammar, editing, and written communication skills.
• Competency in standard office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensationis

$30 per hour.
