About the role Reworld is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst specializing in managing, preparing, and analyzing complex tax compliance and planning functions for a company. This involves staying updated on tax laws, preparing tax returns, conducting technical research, creating tax models, supporting audits, and developing strategies to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities. The role typically requires experience and proficiency in Alteryx & Vertex tax software. The Sr Tax Analyst will be reporting to the Sr Dir, Tax.
Work Location: Florham Park, NJ
Work Schedule: 4 days from home 1 day in office
The pay range for the primary location of this position is:
$90,000 - $115,000 What you will do - Support the review of the company's income tax, sales and use tax, and property tax returns prepared by an external compliance provider, to ensure adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Support the review of estimated tax, extension, and return payment calculations, and assist with the vouchering and payment workflow.
- Assist in extracting accounting data from the ERP system and utilize Alteryx to transform and prepare datasets for seamless integration into the tax compliance software.
- Leverage technology platforms to assist in the design and development of engaging tax training across the organization, enhancing tax literacy and increasing the tax department's visibility as a strategic partner.
- Support the coordination and fulfillment of information requests from external tax advisors by gathering and organizing data from the tax department and collaborating with other internal departments to ensure timely and accurate responses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the design, development, and maintenance of interactive dashboards, transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Support the execution and documentation of internal controls by maintaining accurate records, assisting with control testing, and ensuring compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in managing the customer exemption certificate process by reviewing, validating, and maintaining up-to-date records within the Vertex sales and use tax engine.
- Conduct federal and state tax research to assess the impact of legislative changes and support transaction-driven tax planning, including the preparation of technical memoranda.
- Provide tax audit support by drafting responses to federal and state Information Document Requests (IDRs) and notices.
- Assist with preparation of tax disclosures and implementation of emerging disclosure requirements for external reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with external service providers to ensure departmental accruals precisely align with the services rendered each month.
- Assist in preparing various tax forms and responding to ad hoc tax-related requests from the business.
What you will need - Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, tax or a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant tax experience, ideally in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools or technologies is highly desirable.
- Experience with MS Teams, Alteryx and Power BI is required.
- CPA or progress toward CPA is preferred.
- Familiarity with ASC 740 and tax provision processes is a plus.
