Covington Court Health and Rehab is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse (LPN or RN) to lead wound management and skin integrity programs for our long-term care residents. This is a hands-on, clinically focused position for a nurse who is passionate about wound healing, prevention, and improving resident outcomes through consistent, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities – Wound Care in Long-Term Care
Perform comprehensive wound assessments, documenting wound size, depth, drainage, tissue type, and healing progress
Develop and implement wound care treatment plans based on physician orders and clinical best practices
Coordinate and conduct wound rounds in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, physicians, and therapy staff
Apply and monitor specialized wound care treatments including wound vacs, hydrocolloids, alginates, and compression dressings
Identify and document skin integrity concerns, including pressure injuries, skin tears, and moisture-related damage
Educate and support nursing staff on wound prevention protocols, pressure ulcer staging, and proper repositioning techniques
Maintain detailed and timely documentation for regulatory compliance and survey readiness
Act as the facility’s go-to expert on wound and skin care, providing training and mentorship to direct care staff
Monitor supplies and ensure cost-effective wound care practices without compromising quality
Participate in quality assurance initiatives related to skin care outcomes and infection control
Qualifications:
Active and unencumbered LPN or RN license in Arkansas
Minimum 1 year of wound care experience in a long-term care, rehab, or skilled nursing facility
Strong understanding of wound types, stages, treatment modalities, and documentation standards
Certification in wound care (WCC, WOCN) is preferred or must be willing to pursue
Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
